Preliminary Round : All Software Developers (MUGH Members!) either individually or in a team (maximum 2 members) can submit the solution for evaluation. A brief abstract of the idea should be submitted in form of document(s) for evaluation. Document(s) submitted for preliminary round should carry the idea of work, architecture, design (preferable both high level and low level design). All evaluated entries would be eligible for final round.

Finalists will be chosen based on the following attributes.
  1. Clarity in documentation
  2. Representation of the functionality
  3. Modularity
  4. Violations of copy rights & Authenticity
  5. Architecture

Final Round : Contestant(s) shall be communicated through email from MUGH Techfest team, about the preliminary result.

Contestant(s), who are successful in preliminary round, Second Round would be eligible for the final contest. In the final round, contestant(s) are at their own choice of building software applications leveraging
.NET 1.1 Or WHIDBEY and submit them. Applications should be in the original format, and if possible, carry statement that shall express the same.


Evaluation Criterion :
Software applications submitted against final round shall be judged on any/all of the following aspects
  • Software application reusability – How well the solution enables .NET community easily adapt the submitted entry
  • Software application adoptability – Solutions capability to plug-n-play into other non .NET technologies, thereby widening the reach.
  • Software application readability – Solutions code practices, optimization techniques used
  • Application performance and security - How your Application was designed to perform in a better way? What are the key design guidelines considered for the same?

Project creation guidelines :
    Method 1:::
  • Every Project should be hosted on a workspace @ www.gotdotnet.com
  • Create a workspace @ Code Gallery with a name XXXXmugh (Where XXXX can be your project name.)
  • Add contests@mugh.net as an Admin user on your workspace (It helps Judges to review the Project at each phase). You can do this by sending an invitation to the email id contests@mugh.net. This workspace should have all team members as it's members.
  • Source Code can be uploaded in your workspace's download section.
    (Use Upload Release feature).

November 20th, 2005

First Round Results :
Nov 25th, 2005
